The Barefoot Boogie Music Wave
The first hour is the warm-up – slow music for stretching, getting quiet, doing contact improvisation, or just unwinding from the day. The pace picks up from there to an aerobic, ecstatic high and then drops down again for a deep inward journey, somewhere around 9:45pm. After a few songs, the pace picks up again, and then anything goes!
On any given night at Barefoot Boogie, you’ll probably hear Latin, African, Middle Eastern, funk, R&B, hip-hop, house, blues, downtempo electronica, jazz, and more. You’ll hear some things that are old and comfortable, some that are new and unfamiliar, and some things that may even surprise you – and you’ll find yourself dancing to things you never expected you’d dance to!
Barefoot Boogie is a place where you can do your own dance in a creative, connected community space. We hope you'll join us!
